Switch Grass

One of the earliest Panicum to change color. The foliage emerges a blue green, but quickly turns a deep red. In the fall, the color changes to a deep purple with red-purple seed heads. Nice upright habit.

Little Bluestem

A North American native with a tight, upright habit throughout the season. The blades have a blue hue with a red base and are a little wider than other varieties. Excellent bright red-orange fall color. Drought tolerant once established.

Schizachyrium scoparium 'Twilight Zone'

Little Bluestem

The foliage of this Schizachyrium has a silvery mauve purple cast starting in midsummer. As fall approaches the foliage turns a much brighter purple. Great grass for hot, dry areas.

Prairie Dropseed

One of the most oranmental of the native prairie grasses. Fine-textured, hair-like medium green grass forms a clump that has a unique frangrance and resembles cilantro. Fall foliage turns gold with orange hues. Drought tolerant, likes a well-drained soil. Fantastic lawn alternative.
